Myrtis L. "Myrt" McConnell
Funeral services celebrating the life of Myrtis L. "Myrt" McConnell will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2014, in The Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, with Pastor Milton Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville. Visitation will be observed from 11:00 a .m. until the time of service.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Pete Socia, David Harrell, Mike Young, John Baker, Paul Smith, Mark Perry and Jarrod Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Holmes.
Mrs. McConnell, 93, of Pineville, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Covenant Hospice Care Center, Panama City, Florida.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Pineville and during her working life she was a Registered Nurse retiring after47 years of service. One of her passions was dancing, especially, the Jitter Bug and the Funky Chicken. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend that will be dearly missed.
Those that preceded her in death are her daughter, Lee McConnell; husband, Earl McConnell and her parents.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Thomas M. "Tim" McConnell; grandson, Jason McConnell; great granddaughter, Ramona McConnell and her dear friends, Ann Harrell, Jackie Bell and Debbie Morrison.
