Noma Cardino Derbonne
Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Noma Cardino Derbonne will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 15, 2013, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Deville, with Father Paul Kunnumpuram officiating. Burial will follow at Alexandria Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.
The family asks that visitation be observed Friday, June 14, 2013 at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m.
Noma Cardino Derbonne was born on March 23, 1937 and entered the gates of Heaven on June 12, 2013 surrounded by her family.
She now rests in heaven with her son, Warren David Derbonne; parents, Paul and Cora Lacaze Cardino; two brothers, Paul Cardino, Jr. and Roy Cardino; and one sister, Joanne Cardino Self.
During her working career, she worked for Sears in Alexandria, retiring after 27 years. She loved dancing every Saturday night at the VFW
with her husband and friends, taking long walks, having a girls day out with her daughter and just being with her family. She will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her.
She leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Ellis Derbonne of Pineville; son, Glenn Derbonne and wife, Denise of Pineville; daughter, Tammie Derbonne Belgard and husband, Parson of Deville; granddaughters, Felicity Sayes and husband, Donnie of Ball, Kristina McElwee and husband, John of Glen Burnie, Maryland; grandson, Brandon Derbonne and Fiance', Lynette of Alexandria; great-grandchildren, Bryan Sayes, Lacee Sayes, Kendall McElwee, Jessica McElwee, Brantley Derbonne; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be James Self, Parson Belgard, Brandon Derbonne, Donnie Sayes, George Rachal and Paul Cardino, III.
The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Dr. Abi Rached and staff at Hematology Oncology Life Center, for helping to extend her life 7 more years.
