Pearlie Wilkins Green

Pearlie Wilkins Green entered into peaceful rest on January 5, 2013 at her residence. Services will be held at Second Evergreen Baptist Church 2314 Wise St., Alexandria on January 12, 2013 at 11:00am. Viewing will be held at the church beginning at 9:00am until time of service.

Pearlie was born on February 16, 1942 to the union of Meazle "Bift" and Hattie Prescott Wilkins. She is a native of Colfax, Louisiana. Pearlie began her education in Grant Parish. She graduated from Mary E. Graham High School. She continued her education at LSUA and obtained a degree in nursing.

Pearlie lived a life of service using her career in nursing to help people throughout the community. Her career included working at Huey P. Long Hospital for 35 years and Crossroad Rehabilitation Hospital for 10 years. Pearlie was passionate about her relationship with God. Whether at work or play every life she touched knew she was a child of God.

Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Edward Leroy Wilkins.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Joe L. Green, son Cedric L. Green (Cassandra), daughter, Claudette "Kim" Green, all of Alexandria; brother, George Wilkins, of Pineville; sisters, Geneva Tanner of Seattle, Washington and Annette Mayfield of Shiloh, Georgia, Grandchildren, Tammara Green of Dallas, Texas, Denzel and Cedric B. Green and Deandre Cotton all of Alexandria; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
