A Mass of Christian Burial for Ross A. Giamanco will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 10, 2012 at St. Martin Catholic Church, 1815 St. Martin Street, Lecompte with Father Pedro Sierra-Posada officiating. Burial will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and continued Monday from 11:30 a.m. until shortly before time of service. A Wake Service will held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers with Chaplain Matt Woollett officiating.

Mr. Giamanco, 73, of Alexandria, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at his residence.

Ross was a graduate of Menard High School, he attended L.S.U. and graduated from U.S.L now known as U.L.L. and worked for many years at the U.S.D.A. Mr. Giamanco was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church, Lecompte, The MacArthur Drive Lions Club and The Jaycees of Vidalia, LA. Many family and friends benefitted from Ross's passion for gardening and cooking.

His first wife, Vera Jo Giamanco; parents, Sebastian "Buster" and Mary Cecelia Dino Giamanco and son, Christopher Paul Giamanco, preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jane Ledig Giamanco; son, Patrick Giamanco; daughter, Karen G. Reed and husband, Scott; step-sons, Trey McCollum and wife, Michelle and Trent McCollum; step-daughter, Ashley McCollum; brother, Don Giamanco; grandchildren, Heather Knous and husband, Kyle and Luke Reed; step-grandchildren, Kailyn McCollum and Kendall McCollum.

Pallbearers honored to service will be Keith Chapman, Clay Cooper, Kyle Knous, Gerard Labbe, Luke Reed and Irving Norwood.

Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Cooper, Elbert Wiggins, Wiley Heard and Jerry Herron.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary Carol Johnson longtime family friend, Diana Adcock, Deanna Rachal, Wanda Crooks, Tee Johnson and the staff of CHRISTUS St. Frances Hospice for all of the loving care given to Ross.
