Reverend Tom Fewell
Funeral services for Reverend Tom Fewell will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend Jim Thomasee and Reverend Dennis Snoddy officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Hixson Brothers, Pineville Tuesday, January 1, 2013 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and continued Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Reverend Fewell, 69, of Pineville, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
Reverend Tom Fewell was a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps
and veteran of Vietnam where he was a combat engineer. He graduated from Louisiana College in 1965 and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity in 1972.
Reverend Tom Fewell was a Southern Baptist Minister; he was Associate Pastor of Cloverdale Baptist Church; he served as a home missionary with the Southern Baptist Convention as Director of Christian Social Ministry in Jacksonville, North Carolina. He was a prison chaplain in Huntsville, Texas, Ocala, Florida and Allen Correctional Facility in Kinder, and Chaplain with Rapides Regional Medical Center Hospice for over 20 years. Reverend Fewell pastored churches in Oklahoma and Louisiana. His hobbies were, golfing, gardening, and reading; however, his favorite pastime was playing with his grandchildren who lovingly called him "Paw".
His parents, Thomas Lee and Annie Mae Addison Fewell, preceded him in death.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 47 years, Linda Wooley Fewell of Pineville; sons, Patrick Fewell of Baton Rouge and Jason Fewell and wife, Dawn, of Forest Hill; daughter, Amy Fewell Drake and husband, Chris, of Tyler, Texas; brothers, Claude Fewell and wife, Mary Lou, of Lafayette and Jimmy Fewell and wife, Mary Lou, of New Orleans; sisters, Virginia Fountain of Calvert City, Kentucky, Gay Ann Tate and husband, Danny, of Prairieville and Bonnie Elliott and husband David of Pineville; brother-in-law, Jake Wooley and wife, Teri of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Lindsey Fewell, Landon Fewell, Cooper Drake, Emory Drake and Micah Thomas Drake; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, Reverend Fewell will be greatly missed.
