Tommy H. Ivy

Tommy H. Ivy, 54, of Longville passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012 in Lake Charles.

Mr. Ivy was born on October 16, 1958, and was raised in Alexandria. He was a graduate of Bolton High School in Alexandria. In his earlier years, he played baseball and still enjoyed the sport in his adult life. Mr. Ivy began his career as a meat cutter in high school at Winn Dixie before becoming market manager at Market Basket for several years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cynthia "Cindy" Ivy of Longville; two daughters, Amanda Richard and husband Jason of Moss Bluff, and Nicole Ivy Maggard and husband Will of Virginia Beach, Va.; four stepchildren, Brandon Russell, and Tiffany, Mary Beth and Brittany Jernigan; three sisters, Jewel Ekermeyer of Alexandria, Betty Palocsik and husband Rick of Georgia, and Alice Ducote and husband Ronnie of Pineville; a brother, Wayne Ivy and wife Kathy of Pineville; four grandchildren, Trent, Trevor, and Trey Richard, and Kamden Maggard; three step-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Raylyn Sutter and Hunter Jernigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Houston Ivy; a sister, Bobbie Pacheco; two brothers, Sonny and Loyd Ivy; and a brother-in-law, Donald Ekermeyer.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Chris Fuselier will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be held at noon Wednesday until the start of the service.
