T/SGT Quinton O'Neal Perkins, Sr.

Funeral services celebrating the life of T/SGT Quinton O'Neal Perkins, Sr. will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2013, at Wilda Baptist Church, Boyce with the Reverends Webb Robinson & Dobie Perkins officiating with personal remarks by his sons, Quinton O'Neal Perkins, Jr. and John Perkins, and Alfred "Sonny" Murphy. Interment will follow in Dewil Cemetery, Gardner, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, with Military Honors by the Barksdale Air Force Base Honor Guard.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Nathan Holt, J.C. Holt, Jimmie Durison Jr., Matthew Durison, Kyle Feazell, Trey Perkins, Dustin Perkins, Micah Perkins, Cole Feazell. Honorary Pallbearers, Kayla Perkins, Lauren Perkins, Laikin Perkins, Emily Feazell, Lacy Leach, Yana Leckie, Brady Cole, Garrett Holt, Gavin Holt, Alexis Durison, Joshua Perkins, Christopher Gaspard, Jordan Perkins and Jayden Perkins.

The family asks that friends call after 4 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Thursday at Wilda Baptist Church and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.

Mr. Perkins, 77, of Elmer, passed from this life Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.

Mr. Perkins, Sr. was a 1954 Graduate of Oak Hill High School. He retired after 20 years of service with the United States Air Force with the rank of Tech Sgt. After his military service, he worked with Par Gas, that became Hollier Gas, that became AmeriGas, retiring after many years of service. He was a member of Oak Grove Mission Church, Hineston.

His wife, Joyce Elaine Perkins; a son, Julius Vance Perkins and his parents, Julius and Ida Perkins, brothers, Rufus Perkins and Marvin Perkins preceded him in death.

Mr. Perkins leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Janell Perkins Leckie and husband Glynn, of Alexandria, Janet Perkins Holt and husband John, of Sieper and Juanita Perkins Feazell and husband Cliff, of Elmer; his sons, Quinton O'Neal Perkins, Jr. and his wife Lori, of Orange, Texas, Dobie Perkins and his wife Bobbie, of Pineville and John Perkins and his wife Tina, of Elmer; sister, Carmen Perkins Carroll of Boyce; brother, Edward Morse and his wife Sue, of Boyce; seventeen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The family extends their gratitude to Janet Smith, Penny Clark and the Summit Nursing Home and to the St. Frances Cabrini Hospital ICU for helping to care for their father.
