Iris Marie Autrey

Mrs. Iris Marie Autrey, age 71 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at her residence in Winnfield, Louisiana.

Born Thursday, November 20, 1941 in Holly Ridge, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Dewitt Snelling and the late Irene Wilkerson Snelling.

She was the wife of the late Larry Autrey. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Carl Snelling, Gary W. Snelling and Larry L. Snelling.

Mrs. Autrey was a loving mother and grandmother, as well as the devoted wife of a soldier/veteran. She was a member of Greater Pentecostal Church and owned the Hallmark in Winnfield from 1986 to 1989. She traveled to Germany and was an excellent cook who loved to laugh. One of her favorite things was singing on sing snap (online karaoke).

Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Anthony A. "Tony" Autrey and Mark D. Autrey, both of Winnfield, daughter, Jan Brown and husband Daryl of Winnfield, brothers, James Snelling of Broussard, and Ellis Snelling of Winnfield, sisters, Vera Kidd of Pineville, and Sherry Gwyn of Calvin; 6 grand children, Brandy Autrey Black, Anthony "Kyle" Autrey, Jacob Autrey, Ashley Ates, Kristen Ates, and Matthew "Dylan" Autrey; and 6 great grand children.

A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield with the Rev. Robert Franks and Rev. Frank Autrey officiating.

Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Goldonna, LA.

David Key, Jeffery Gwyn,Steven snelling, Brian Snelling, Jason Kidd, Steve Lawrence, Darren Snelling, Michael David Franks, Spencer Brunson and Eric Snelling will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from noon to 7:00 PM on Friday, January 18, 2013, at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield, Louisiana.
