William J. "Bill" Bond Sr.

Services celebrating the life of William J. "Bill" Bond, Sr. will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at First Baptist Church, Boyce, with Reverend Randy Bond officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

Visitation will be observed at the church on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and resume on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

William J. "Bill" Bond, Sr., 83, of Boyce, passed from this life on Sunday, January 3, 2016, at Colfax Reunion Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

During his working career Bill worked as an installer for Western Electric and A T & T Communications. He was a member of the Communications Workers of America, Telephone Pioneers Association, and was Boy Scouts of America Scout Master for Troop 26, Boyce. Bill was also a Minister, Pastoring Cloutierville Baptist Church for many years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Iris Chenault Bond; parents, Seaborn, Sr. and Lydia Stracener Bond; son-in-law, Stephen G. Wellman and brothers, Seaborn Perry Bond, Jr. and Henry Ray Bond.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, William J. Bond, Jr. and wife, Mary, John P. Bond and David K. Bond; daughter, Velda B. Wellman; grandchildren, Trevor J. Wellman, William Seth Bond and Traci Wellman Settoon and husband, Cory; great grandson, Colten L. Wellman; brothers, Columbus B. Bond and wife, Myrtis, Jimmy Clark Bond and wife, Rachel and Rannel D. Bond and wife, Nancy; sisters, Ruth B. Moreau and husband, Allen and Audra B. Bennett and husband, Ray and a host of other family members and friends.
