Funeral services for Emma Margaret "Happy" Tanner, 90, of Cheneyville, will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at First Christian Church in Cheneyville under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie, with Jim Duke, Gary Boswell, and Ross Ford officiating, and music provided by Clyde Grammon. Burial will be in the Old Christian Cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Mrs. Tanner was born April, 1923. She died Saturday, June 15th, 2013 at RRMC. She married Tom O. "Buster" Tanner on April 20, 1942. Happy was a master homemaker and a faithful Christian and member of the First Christian Church in Cheneyville. She loved God, life, flowers, friends and family and her animals.

Mrs. Tanner was an active member with the Order of the Eastern Star for most of her life.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom, her parents, Wade and Rubye, her sister, Eleanor Ann and her brother, William.

Survivors include three sons, Tom Tanner and his wife Kathy of Frisco, Texas, Robin Tanner and his wife Angela of Cheneyville; Guy Tanner and his wife Merry Jo of Cheneyville. Four granddaughters, April Solomon and her husband Mark of Frisco, Texas; Jill Humphrey of Little Elm, Texas, Rebecca O'Donal and her husband Patrick of El Paso, Texas, Allie Tanner of Cheneyville and a grandson Joel Tanner of Frisco, Texas. Two great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters.

Pallbearers will be Kelvin Fields, Steve Halbert, Breck Hoyt, Charley Hoyt, Mark Solomon and Joel Tanner.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Melancon Funeral Home and from 9:00 AM to time of services Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at First Christian Church in Cheneyville.
