Lorraine Bass Obituary
September 11, 1932 - January 23, 2016
Funeral services for Ms. Lorraine Ray Bass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016 in the Oak Grove Baptist Church, LaCamp, with Reverend's Shaw n Waggoner, Greg Mortensen and Sherman Busby officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, LaCamp, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Lorranine Ray Bass entered Heaven's gate on January 23, 2016.
Lorraine enjoyed her childhood in Calcasieu, LA then settled in LaCamp, LA after being united in marriage to Cecil Bass on June 6, 1948. There they raised four children, spread out over sixteen years. Their home has always been filled with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lorraine had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She sang in church, taught Sunday school and gave of herself in the service of God.
Waiting in Heaven for her are: her parents, Willie Ray and Eunice Davis Ray; her husband of sixty one years, Cecil Bass; one daughter, Margie Goodwin and her brother, Carnell Ray.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her son, Larry Bass and wife, Maria, of Glenmora; her two daughters, Carolyn Smith and husband, Blaine, of Baton Rouge, Neannie Glass and husband, Wade, of Panama City, FL; her son-in-law, Russell Goodwin of Hicks; one sister, Maxine Wolf and husband, Andy, of Florence, TX; her sister-in-law, Lavonne Ray of Glenmora; ten grandchildren, John Bass and Beth, Matthew Bass and Lacey, Jess Trautmann, Cara Patton and Travis, Tonya Goodwin, Jason Goodwin and Danyle, Justin Goodwin and Cathy, Micah Smith, Jamie Glass and Luke Glass; twelve great grandchildren, Montana, Skylar, Landon, Russell, Kylie, Myles, Colton, Aaliyah, Archer, Alisa, Cory and Hayden and many others with the message to meet her in her new heavenly home.
Friends may call at Oak Grove Baptist Church, LaCamp; on Monday, January 25, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
