A. George Emberly

Services for A. George Emberly will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2013 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend Ricky Willis officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.

The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from Noon until time of service.

Mr. Emberly, 77, of Pineville passed away Monday, July 15, 2013 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

He was a graduate of Louisiana College and received his Masters Degree from McNeese State University and his plus 30 hours from Northwestern State University. He retired from the Rapides Parish School Board, retiring after 30 years of service at Plainview High School. He was a member of the Pitkin Masonic Lodge #338, F & AM; Rapides Federation of Teachers, the National Street Rod Association and The National Rifle Association. Mr. Emberly was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Billie G. Emberly; parents, Richard and Alberta Clouter Emberly; brother, Donald R. Emberly.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Douglas H. Emberly and wife, Liz; grandsons, Richard D. Emberly and Kenny W. Emberly; sisters-in-law, Irene Emberly of Rahway, New Jersey, Norma Randow of Pineville and Oleen Reel of Pitkin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Herman Randow and Chad Randow.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his caretakers, Linda Dubroc, Nell Deville, Irisha Coty and Penny Baker.
