Services for Mr. Aaron Akins will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2011 at Cotile Baptist Church with Reverend Johnny Miller officiating. Burial will be in Cotile Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.
Visitation will be Thursday at Cotile Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Aaron Akins, 83, of Cotile Lake passed away Tuesday, August 09, 2011 at his residence.
He was a beloved member of Cotile Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Akins was owner of Cenla Auto Parts for many years and then went to work at Crowe-Burlingame (Rapides Auto Supply). He served his country in the Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ella Goleman Akins; son, Clifton Turner; daughter, Paula Turner; brother, J. D. Akins; sister, Mae Dell Womble.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jeannie Gremillion Akins; beloved daughter, Angela Akins Garon and husband, Robin; brother, Billy Akins; sisters, Marie Farmer and Madeline Akins; grandchildren, Brandon Aaron Garon, Jeremy Paul Garon, Brett Daniel Garon, Shane Michael Garon, Jamie Turner, Amy Deselle, Michael Turner and Laura Cook; ten great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Aaron Garon, Jeremy Paul Garon, Brett Daniel Garon, Shane Michael Garon, Jamie Turner and Robin Garon.
