A memorial service celebrating the life of Arthur Custus "Buzz" McNeal, will be held at 1 PM July 3, 2013 in the Chapel of Griffin Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service.

Mr. McNeal, age 73 of Pineville passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Hill Top Nursing Home in Pineville.

He is preceded in death by his father, Vester Lloyd McNeal; his mother Kathryn Peace Smith McNeal; his brother, Vester Lloyd McNeal Jr.; his wife, Harriett Mildred Jackson McNeal and his daughter, Michelle Dawn McNeal.

Survivors include his best friend Randy Perego (Becky) of Pineville; his step daughter, Teresa Jackson Compton (A. Gervais Compton, III) of Alexandria; his sisters Myrna MeNeal Lee (Larry) of Pineville and Katherine Alexander of McComb, Mississippi; his brother, Gary McNeal (Pricilla) of Thibodeaux, Louisiana; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; step son, John Paul Trichell of Nice, California; many special friends and neighbors.

Buzz touched so many lives mentoring young people. He believed that sports, fishing and respecting the waterways of Central Louisiana would build strong character. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and proudly served his country stateside and displayed his American flag. He was an avid LSU and Pineville High football fan, you could find him every Friday during football season watching the Rebels with the group known as the "Peanut Gallery".

The family would like to thank the administration, nursing staff and care givers at Hill Top Nursing Home as well as Rapides Regional Medical Center. A special thanks to Ms. Crystal Hughes, RN and dear friends Dawn Francis and Marshall Winn for their loving care and presence.
