Services for Callie Boone Harvey will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son, with Rev. Lee Taylor, Rev. Jimmy Koonce and Rev. Lloyd Bye officiating. Interment will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens.

Friends are asked to call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from 8:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service.

Callie Boone Harvey, 69, of Lecompte, passed away September 29, 2012, in her residence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Agnes Boone; three sisters, Wilma Johnson, Willie Doris Hickman and Cherry Levesque and three brothers, J.T. Boone, Ray Boone and Roy Boone.

Mrs. Callie retired from Hair, Carlton and Luke Clinic in Lecompte after thirty years of service. She worked at LSUA in the Library and Financial Aid department for 10 years. She was a lifelong member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was also an active member of the WMU. Some of her favorite things to do included spending time with her family and especially her granddaughters. She loved cooking and was well known for her deviled eggs and four layer delight. She loved music and often wrote and recorded her songs.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Buddy Harvey of Lecompte, one son, Darrell G. Harvey and his wife, Kim Dalton Harvey of Prairieville, two granddaughters, Lindsey Jordan Harvey and Emily Morgan Harvey both of Prairieville, three brothers, Charna Boone, William Boone and Terry Boone and five sisters, Juanita Saunders, Ione Saunders, Mary Johnson, Sue Crawford and Carolyn Ates, and countless nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Saunders, David Hickman, Tim Hickman, Floyd Boone, Henry Boone and J.R. Boone. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Johnson and Marvin Barnidge.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the team at the Elliott Breast Center, Hospice Care of Avoyelles and Jo Evelyn Brown for their compassionate care.
