Charles Hardy, aged 74 of Alexandria was received into heaven on Monday, November 19, 2012. He was born to the union of William Hardy and Margie Lee Hardy on June 5, 1938.
He served as Sunday School Superintendent for over forty years at Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from Pinecrest State School and from the Rapides Parish School System where he served as a bus driver for many years and later worked in transportation for the Rapides Parish Sheriff department.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Leah Maxine Jett Hardy, and his sisters, Ruby Hardy Porter, Grace Hardy Palm and Ellean Hardy Dukes, and one brother, Frank Hardy; six children, Deborah Ford, Michael Hardy, Sylvia Quinney, Terry Thomas, Jerry Hardy, and Marvin Hardy and an extended family of eight children, grand-children, great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was a devout father and husband and served his country in the United State Marine Corps.
Funeral services will be held at Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church on November 24, 2012 at 11 am, with the Rev. Chauncey M. Hardy officiating, Rev., Herbert V. Baptiste, conducting the eulogy. Viewing will be from 9:00 am to 10:45 a.m. He will be laid to rest in the Garden of Memory cemetery in Alexandria.
