Funeral services for Charlotte Colleen Perkins will be held at 10 am, Friday, August 17, 2012 in the Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Reverend Nicholas Hodges, officiating. Committal services will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Charlotte, 74, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 in Oakdale. She was born on June 7, 1938 in Oakdale to the union of Charles Edward and Jimmie Alice Howard Potts. She retired from Folk Port where she worked in Financial Management. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward and Jimmy Alice "Pinkie" Howard Potts; one son, Lyndal Earl Perkins; three brothers, Charles Edward Potts, Jr., Cecil Earl Potts, and William Hirma "Sonny Boy" Potts; and one sister, Vera Lee Potts Dean.

She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory, one son, Terry Wade Perkins and his wife Julia Denise of Elizabeth; one daughter, Celeste Colleen P. Michael and her husband Rich of Oakdale; one sister, Verna Lee Lambright of Oakdale; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.

Pallbearers to serve will be Jerry Lee Giles, Joseph Luckett Giles, Jon Luke Giles, Johnny Scott Fuselier, David Daxton Swarthout and Ronald Dwaine Clark. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Wayne Edward Strahan, Jerry West, Brian Soileau, Lester Charles (Chuck) Potts, Scott Ortego, Michael Strahan, and Justin Shane Perkins.

Friends may call today from 8 am until time of service in the church.
