Honoring the life of Mr. Clifford Hoover McCalister, 81, who passed away on February 14, 2013 a memorial service will be said at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 18, 2013 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend Greg Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Military Honors will be provided by personal of Alexandria /Pineville Honor Guard.
The family requests that visitation be observed Sunday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will continue on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
Clifford was born May 20, 1931 in Public, Kentucky. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He owned Mac's Nursery, Forest Hill. God gave him the gift of unconditional love for his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn McCalister of Pineville; children, Rickey C. McCalister and his wife, Pamela of Natchitoches, Vickie Lynn Clifton of Youngville, Jason Smith and wife, Diane of Dry Prong, Sherry Smith of Pineville. He is survived by his sisters, Irene Dunagan (Harold) of Monticello, Kentucky, Dorothy Bullock, Orma Dean Leonard (Paul), Judy Slavey (Mike) of Somerset, Kentucky; brothers, Jack McCalister (Francene) of Science Hill, Kentucky, Gerald McCalister (Lisa) of Fairland, Indiana.
He is survived by grandchildren, Rachel and Riley McCalister, Chris Clifton, Kala Couvillion, Trisha Harvey, Carrie Gorham, Matthew, Courtney and Chase Smith and is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Nona Chaney McCalister and brother, Paul B. McCalister.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Couvillion, Daniel Harvey, Matthew Smith, Jason Smith, Chris Clifton and Riley McCalister.
