Services for Doris Anderson Kearns will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, in St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, with Rev. August Thompson, Rev. James Ferguson and Rev. Ferreolus D`Cruz officiating. Interment will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday at John Kramer & Son.

A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Doris Kearns, 88, of Alexandria, passed away May 2, 2012, in her residence.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Kearns; one daughter, Beth Anne Kearns Hunter; three sons, Leo Francis Kearns, Sr.; James "Jimmy" Kearns and Thomas Edmund Kearns; her parents, Francis Anderson and Ella Robicheaux Anderson and one sister, Jewel A. Davis Hall.

Doris was a member of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. She worked most of her career as a secretary for twenty-seven years and as a bookkeeper and accountant for four years. Our mother was a beautiful person, inside and out. She was such a joy to be around and she devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memory include her seven children, Kathryn "Kathy" Gawthrop (Guy) of Pineville; Judy Medica (Charles) both of Woodworth; William "Bill" Kearns (Rhonda) of Fishers, Indiana; John Henry Kearns, II (Ella) of The Woodlands, Texas; Mary Ducote (Tony)of Alexandria; Richard Earl Kearns (Dee) of Pineville and Patty Caillier (Dwayne) of Lafayette; nineteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Kearns, Michael Kearns, Leo F. Kearns, Jr., Jody Kauderer, Chad Barton and Dustin Kearns.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kathy Gawthrop, Judy Medica, Mary Ducote, Patty Caillier, Bill Kearns, John Kearns and Richard Kearns.
