Elmer was one of my best friends and I loved him like a father. I looked up to him. I just wished we had not lived so far apart. He was a man that stood out in life. I will miss him dearly.

You are still a beautiful woman and Uncle Elmer will look down on you and say so many good things about you. I can remember when I was a kid you and Uncle Elmer were very good to me. Mrs. Merla, What a wonderful man Mr. Elmar was. I loved that sweet smile of his. I know you will miss him. You know I always loved coming to your home for Art Classes.I learned so much more then just how to paint. You and Mr Elmar taught me the true meaning of "Faith in God". Ilove you both. It was my pleasure to grow up in the Church with Mr. Elmer as an example of a true Christian. After our marriage, it was our honor to be his friend. He always had an encouraging word.
