Funeral services for Mr. Eugene "Big Gene" Ewert will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012 in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville. Interment will be in Restland Memorial Gardens, Pollock, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mr. Ewert, age 51, of Bentley, entered eternal rest on Friday, April 13, 2012 near Pineville, Louisiana.
He was a native of Pine Prairie, La. He was employed by Holsum Bakery for the past 25 years. He also worked security for various nite clubs and events in the area. He was a member and vice-president of the P.O.B. He enjoyed riding his Harley and being with his friends. He also enjoyed mud riding and horseback riding.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frederick and Meta Ewert; maternal grandfather, Edison Johnson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Lang Ewert of Bentley; father and step-mother, Robert and Hazel Ewert of Ville Platte; mother and step-father, Anna Lou and Walter Tuma of Libuse; grandmother, Lua Kees Johnson of Pineville; mother-in-law, Carrie Lang of Alexandria; one son, Ross Ewert of Pineville; one step-son, Brandon Godron of Bentley; one daughter, Heather Fox (Lance) of Baton Rouge; one sister, Debbi Ewert Hennings of Libuse; one niece, Ashli Hennings Watson (Buddy) of Creola; one great nephew, Caidan; also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Dan Ober, Rick Kojis, Boo-Boo Antee, Ronnie Malensek, Jason Antee, and Buddy Wells; honorary pallbearers will be the members of the P.O.B. Family.
Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Monday, April 16, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
