Funeral Services for Franklin Lafayette Barefield will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with Rev. Calvin Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens, Woodworth, under the direction of John Kramer & Son.
Franklin Lafayette Barefield, 78, of Alexandria, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at Matthews Memorial Nursing Home in Alexandria.
Franklin is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Eunice Barefield; brother, Willard Taylor and his sister, Eleanor Hofmann.
Franklin was a graduate of Lecompte High School. He worked for the Louisiana Highway Department for 33 years and was a member of bowling leagues in Alexandria.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Georgiann Barefield, three daughters, Linda Ann Currey of Houston, Texas, Barbara Gail Ford of Houston, Texas, and Marybo Cantrell of Alexandria; two sons, James Deen of Lafayette and Bob Deen of Hartman, AR; two sisters, Marilyn Barefield of Hammond, Julia Manley of Needham, Alabama; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time-of-service Saturday, September 21, 2013 at John Kramer & Son.
Pallbearers honored to serve are Ben Currey, Jr., Dean Padgett, James Deen, Cecile Kemp, Dale Kemp, Danny Manley.
