Frederick L. Worthington

Funeral services for Frederick L. Worthington will be Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 12:00 noon at the L & A Baptist Church in Jena, Louisiana with Rev. Dave Mays fficiating. Burial will follow in the Webster Cemetery under the direction of Gayden Funeral Home. Visitation will be observed from 10:30 A.M. until time of the service at the church.

Mr. Worthington, age 86, of Jena, passed away January 2, 2013 at Rapides Regional Medical Center. He resided in Rapides Parish almost four years.

He was a United States Navy Veteran during World War II, a deacon at Mars Hill Baptist Church and an avid gardener.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Earnestine Nesby Worthington, his mother, Myrtle Walker Worthington, father, Artis Worthington, Sr. and three siblings, Artis Worthington, Jr., Willie B. Worthington and Ruth Worthington Johnson.

Mr. Worthington is survived by his children, Freddie Worthington Young, Pineville, Melvin R. Worthington (Coral), Jena, and Artis L. Worthington, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Grand Daughter, Ginger Worthington, Houston, Texas, Sisters, Margie McDade, Jena and Audrey Harrison, Bear, Delaware, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends, special care givers, and acquaintances.
