A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday with visitation beginning at 10:00 am at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro Bro. Mark Rodie will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at 3:00 pm in Alexandria Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Alexandria.

Gary W. Haggart, 63, died peacefully December 9, 2012 in a local hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 2, 1949 in Alexandria. He was a graduate of Northwestern State University with a Masters Degree in psychology. After working in Virginia, he returned home to accept the challenge of managing and over-seeing a Pecan Farm. He served as President of the Pecan Association of Louisiana for several years. The Company Farms in Baskin, Louisiana was Gary's love and his home, where his many friends became his second family.

Those left to cherish his memory are: his brothers- Sidney Haggart and wife Shirley of Purvis, Mississippi; Denzel Haggart and wife Sharon of LeCompte, Louisiana; Tommy Haggart and wife Paula of Sulphur, Louisiana; his sisters-Kay Watt and husband Lacy of Tatum, Texas; Edith Nevils and husband Tommy, Bobbie Murphy and husband Jay, and Faye Magel and husband JR all of Sulphur, Louisiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren D. and Clara Haggart.
