Hugh S. Coleman, Sr.

Services for Hugh S. Coleman, Sr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2013, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son, with Fr. Chad Partain and Rev. Johnny Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Cotile Baptist Church Cemetery, Boyce, La., under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2013 and again from 8:30 a.m. until time of service on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the funeral home.

Hugh S. Coleman, Sr., 74, of Boyce passed away October, 18 2013 at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital.

Hugh is preceded in death by his parents; Edward and Thelma Coleman; 1 daughter, Delores Coleman; 1 son, Tryon Coleman; 2 brothers, Emmitt Coleman and Edward Coleman, Jr.; 1 sister, Betty Coleman.

Hugh Spencer Coleman Sr. was born on September 3, 1939, in Union, South Carolina to Edward and Thelma Coleman. He attended school in Charleston, South Carolina, but before completion of high school he joined the United States Air Force. Hugh retired after 20 years with the Air Force and was a veteran of Vietnam. After retirement, Hugh and then wife Sandy Coleman opened Coleman's Seafood and Coleman's Catfish Cabin 1 and 2; they operated both locations until 1991. Hugh was an avid fresh and saltwater fisherman.

Those left to cherish his memories include his son Hugh S. Coleman, Jr.; his daughter, Angel Coleman Melancon and her husband David Mark; his grandchildren: David Maurice Melancon, David Ryan Melancon and Adaline H. Coleman all of Cotile Lake. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be: Paul Wallace, David Foster, Mark Hoosier, David Maurice Melancon, David Mark Melancon and Roger McCann.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry DeVanie.
