Kenneth Maurice Day, 84, died in The Oaks Nursing Home in Pineville, LA on Sunday, 24 Feb 2013. Kenneth was born 12 Oct 1928 in Pineville to Wm F. and Lula M.Reynolds Day. Ken served 4 years in the USAF as a Corporal during the Korean War. He worked at the VFW, Union Pacific RR, and as Manager of the Recreational Facilities Dept at LSU, his Alma Mater. A certified bowling instructor, he was winner of nearly 50 1st place trophies. Ken lived most of his life in Louisiana, but also lived in Visalia, California.He spent his life serving others.
Ken was brother to Mary H. Day (by Lula Reynolds Day), William and Victoria Sierra Day of Spain, Fred and Marjorie Watt Day of Scotland and Sybil Day Blake of (by Odie Clark Day). (By Martha Elliott Day), Ken had
five siblings, Gary Day and Lafate (Butch) and Farah Day, David and Reba Day Mozer, Jerry and Doris Day Mendoza and Paul (Buddy) and Davida (Bebe) Day Rabalais, all of Louisiana.
Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, his siblings Sybil and Carl,two bros-in-law, George Dudney of California and Tom Patty of California and Louisiana, four nephews: Micah Day of Louisiana, David Day, of Spain, Ralph Liberato of California, James Billo of Oregon and grandnephew David Kenneth D. Liberato of California.
In addition to his siblings listed above, Kenneth is survived by nieces and nephews: Kay Billo, Jeanne Liberato, Tom Dudney, David and Debby Brackett Dudney, all of California, Robert and Susan Douglas of Utah, William Day, Jr., Michael Day, Joseph Day all of Spain, Paul Day, Elizabeth Day, both of Scotland, William Doss, Marti Doss, Thad Doss, Gabriel Doss, Kylie Day, Elliott Day, Donnie Day, Misty Day, Holli Day, Neely Simpson, Jessica Simpson, Haley Mendoza, Ashley Mendoza all of Louisiana. 40 grand nieces/nephews, 24 great-grand nieces/nephews, 3 great-great-grand nieces/nephews. Cousins Jarrell Clark, Louis Otis Voorhies, Bobby and Sheila Marcum Bardwell, Rose M. Reynolds Girlinghouse, Mike and Wyndolyn Reynolds Doyle Reynolds Doyle, all of Louisiana, Gary and Judy Mason Reynolds, of Mississippi, and Beatrice Voorhies Cuckler of South Dakota, plus many other relatives, friends and loved ones.

there will be viewing on Thursday, 28 Feb 2013, from 6 to 9 pm and on Friday, 1 Mar 2013 from 10 am until the funeral service begins at 11 am.
Preceding the visitation and service, for those who wish to attend there will be a special 8:30 am Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 600 Lakeview St, Pineville. Father Steven Soares will be residing. Following the service at Magnolia Funeral Home, burial will be at Forest Lawn, 4000 Monroe Hwy, Ball, Louisiana.
