Lera Wells Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Lera Mae Wells will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Glenmora Baptist Church with Reverends Bill Calloway, Fallis Holloway and Neil Treme officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Melder, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale, Louisiana.
Mrs. Wells, age 84, of Glenmora, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in her residence.
Lera was active in her church, the Women's Missionary Union and her community and she was a retired Registered Nurse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James David Wells, Sr.; four brothers, David Monroe Barton, Calvin Travis Barton, Joseph Herman Barton and Willie B. Barton and three sisters, Evie Josephine Barton, Vera Faye Barton Rhame and Mary Rozelle LaField.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her two sons, James "Jim" Wells, Jr. and his wife Dorothy, of Glenmora and Raymond Wells and his wife Sandra, of Glenmora; three daughters, Janet Malon of Glenmora, Tami Wells, of Woodworth and Jennifer Spann, of Glenmora; two sisters, Inez Williford, of Ruby and Oma Lee Blank, of Glenmora; twelve grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
Friends may call Glenmora Baptist Church on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

MS. Lera was a very sweet lady who always made me feel welcomed at Glenmora Baptist Church.
Always had a hug and kind word to say. she walked and talked her Christian Faith. I know when she walked through those pearly gates God Said Welcome home my good and Faith Servant.
To her Family you had a great mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.
