Martha Louise (Perry) Tanner of Moss Point, Mississippi died Friday, February 22, 2013.
Born in Hodge, Louisiana, March 9, 1932, she was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived most of her life in Houston, Texas. She was a faithful servant in her church work, teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and she sang in the church choir.
She worked for Bell Telephone and after marrying her husband Albert G. Tanner, they traveled together with their family around the country as he worked for the Veterans Administration.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Albert G. Tanner, her daughters, Joy Lynn Lewis and husband Stephen; Jeannie Tanner and life partner Susan Lawrence; Annie Tanner Akers and husband Mathew; grandson Daniel Lewis and wife Bridget; grandson Aaron Lewis and wife Martza; granddaughter Anna Vanderbom and husband William; grandson William Oliver and wife Dianna; and five great grandchildren: Tripp Lewis, Genesis Lewis, Eva & Liam Vanderbom and Alicemae Oliver; sister, Leota Varner; brother, Billy Perry (Etta); sister, Sandra Bollier (Weldon); brother, Mickey Perry (Marie); brother, Sam Perry (Janet) and brother, Charlie Perry (Patsy).
Preceded in death by parents Cora & Leo Perry, sister Alma Eddings; granddaughter Jessica Elizabeth Lewis, and sister-in-law, Wanda Perry.
Visitation will be held, from 5 to 8pm,Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Rosewood Funeral Home, Humble, TX. Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Gospel Assembly Church, 548 S Houston Ave Humble, TX 77338. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
