Jackie "Jack-A" Alwell McGinty
Funeral services for Ms. Jackie A. McGinty will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, Louisiana with Rev. Kemp Cole officiating. Interment will be in Big Island Baptist Church Cemetery, Deville, Louisiana, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, Louisiana.
Ms. McGinty, age 54, of Alexandria, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Grace Home in Alexandria, Louisiana.
She was a native of Deville. She was an employee of La. Fountain & Supply. She formerly worked for Dr. McCabe's office. She was also known as "Jack-A" the D.J. at Brewzers and other places. She loved her family, pets, music and was known for her unique singing. She was the most fascinating, compassionate, inspirational and loving person to anyone that had the pleasure to know her. She was a very strong willed, outgoing and loving person and was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Hattie Mae Alwell.
She is survived by her former husband and lifelong friend, Tommy McGinty of Alexandria; one son, Thomas Shannon McGinty (Regina) of Alexandria; one daughter, Jada Michelle McGinty of Alexandria; three brothers, Reginald Alwell (Cathy) of Deville, Randy Alwell (Karen) of Deville and Dewayne Alwell (Bessie) of Ruby; four grandchildren, Timmy Hackett, Ella McGinty, Emma McGinty and Carli McGinty.
Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, Louisiana on Monday, February 24, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Brewzers Bar, staff of Huey P. Long Oncology Department and Grace Home, Dr. Saccaro, B.A.C.A. and her many friends.
