Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Frost Kees will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 28, 2014 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, with Dr. C. Stewart Holloway and Reverend Alton Hawk officiating. Committal service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Kevin Kees, Justin Kees, Jay Ebey, Stan Miller, Lynn Cavanaugh and Kendal Ryland.

Mrs. Kees, age 85, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Emeritus in Alexandria, Louisiana. She was born in Kurthwood, Louisiana on December 23, 1928, and graduated from Leesville High School in 1945.

Soon after graduation, she moved to Pineville, Louisiana, where she began her working career at S.H. Kress and Co., in Alexandria, Louisiana, until she married the love of her life, James L. "Jake" Kees on October 19, 1947.

She later returned to work and retired in 1989 from the Rapides Parish School Board as the Cafeteria Manager at J. I. Barron Elementary School with 22 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pineville, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James L. "Jake" Kees; her parents, Leonard and Lilly

Simmons Frost; and her son-in-law, William K. "Willie" White.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Scott Kees and his wife, Sandra of Pineville; daughter, Phyllis Patterson and her husband, Randy of Pineville; randsons, Kevin Kees and his wife, Jennifer of Pineville and Justin Kees and his wife, Ashley of Pineville; granddaughter, Amanda Patterson Ebey and her husband, Jay of Deville; great granddaughters, Christa-Ann Kees, EmmaLee Kees, Riley Grace Kees and Skylar Ebey; great grandsons, Brydon Johnson and Gabe Ebey; and brother, Milton Frost of Pineville.

Friends may call at Hixson Brothers, Pineville, from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2014 and continued Friday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
