A Mass of Christian Burial for Annette Hunter Davis will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014, in St. Juliana Catholic Church with Rev. Remigius Owuamanam and Rev. August Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens under the direction of Progressive Funeral Home.
Annette was born on May 13, 1944 in Manhattan, New York to the late Henry Hunter Jr. and Bettye Adams Hunter. Her earthly life came to an end on Monday, March 10, 2014.
Annette was raised in Columbia, Louisiana. She attended and was later joined in holy matrimony to Clarence C. Davis, Jr. on June 5, 1965 at Grambling State University. To this union, two sons were born. She retired from the Rapides Parish Police Jury after 27 years as a Counselor and Case Manager Supervisor.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, father, Henry, mother Bettye, and sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Leroy Deramus.
Those left to cherish her memories include her sons, Gary Marcel (Angelia) Davis, Gerald "Jay" Davis; three grandsons, Jeremy, Justin, and Josh and their mother Angela Davis, all of Memphis, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Morgan Davis also of Memphis, Tennessee; two great-grandchildren, Skylar and Sydney Davis of Atlanta, Georgia; one cousin (reared as a brother) Paul Adams of South Bend, Indiana; five brother-in-laws; four sister-in-laws; and many nieces, nephews, (especially Keith and Yvette Deramus), god-daughters and other relatives and friends.
Friends may view after 9:00 am at the Church. The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am.
