He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Hazel McCann McNutt of Cheneyville. He is, also, survived by his daughter, Linda McNutt Deselle, and her children, Amy Alwell Pence and husband Jeff, and Amanda Alwell Hubbard and husband Ryan; his step-grandson Stephen DeSelle and wife Laurie; daughter-in-law, Debi Klooster McNutt and children, Jeff McNutt, Jennifer McNutt Floyd and husband Mike, and Jarred McNutt; his great grandchildren Xander Pence, Keenan Hubbard, Taylor Floyd, and Connor Floyd; his twin brother, Donald McNutt and wife Mary Lea ; his older brother, Walker McNutt and wife Betty ; his brother-in-law Elvin Lee McCann and wife Sally; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Dennis was raised in Cheneyville, Louisiana, where he attended elementary and high school, and where he met the love of his life, Hazel. He and Hazel were life-long members of Beulah Baptist Church where he was a devoted deacon. He was an exemplary farmer as co-partner of McNutt Brothers Farms; he loved the outdoors and the beloved woods in which he hunted since childhood enjoying many domino games at "Armadillo Ranch" and the M&M Hunting Club. He also enjoyed traveling to Colorado during the summer and fall months where he would go elk hunting with his son Reggie. When he wasn't hunting or farming he enjoyed sharing special moments outside on the swing with his daughter Linda.

Pallbearers will be Jeff McNutt, Jarred McNutt, David Broussard, and the deacons of Beulah Baptist Church.

The family would like to sincerely thank Dennis' countless friends and extended family who loved and continue to show their love for Dennis and his family; he was truly blessed.
