Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Jean Keenan Fogleman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014 in Oakdale First Baptist Church with Reverends Michael McIntosh and Wallace Millsaps officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heard Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Evelyn Jean Keenan Fogleman of Oakdale passed away on Tuesday, March, 18, 2014 in Matthews memorial Nursing Home, Alexandria at the age of 83. Jean was the heart and soul of her family. The gifting of a servant spirit was a thread of life in her daily walk. Her children and grandchildren knew the greatest gift of a mother and grandmother. In 1946 upon moving to Oakdale from Sulphur she fell in love with the community and has been a devoted "Oakdalian" ever since. She was a long time member of the Oakdale First Baptist Church. Friendships formed in those early years, with so many, were lasting, wonderful, and enjoyed by the entire family. She met Vernon I. Fogleman of Oakdale and they married on February 14, 1948.
Her love for Oakdale brought opportunities to serve as President of the Business and Professional Women's Club, Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 78, the Oakdale Alumni Association, and the Oakdale Area Chamber of Commerce.
Mrs. Fogleman was preceded in death by: her husband of 49 years Vernon Fogleman, her parents James Keenan and Ethel Campbell K. Ellender and her step-father Alvin Ellender and her step-brother R.D. Ellender and his wife JoAnn Moreland Ellender.
She is survived by: her son; Robert D. "Bob" Fogleman and his wife Rhonda of New Rhodes, three daughters Ada Nell Bryant and her husband Ronnie of Pineville, Jean Ann Bruchhaus and husband Donnie of Elton, and Marlene Doucet and husband Tommy of Oakdale.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Robert "Rob" Fogleman, Erin Fogleman, Ashley Jeansonne and her husband Matt, Ryan Rayburn and fiance'Victoria Craig, Chris Wenkel and wife Ashley, Donnie Bruchhaus, Jr. and wife Billie, Michael Bruchhaus and wife Abby, Allison Bruchhaus, Sharon Jean Tanory and husband John, John T. Doucet, and James R. Doucet. Great grandchildren; Cannon, Sophie, Nathan Hunter, and Lillian Keenan Bruchhaus, Rose Olivia Fogleman, John Joseph Tanory, Olivia, Rylan, and Easton Jeansonne, Thomas Minski Rayburn, and Preslee, and Piper Wenkel Her Brothers-in Law Owen Fogleman and his wife Lillian and Wallace Ray Millsaps and his wife Judy, her dear relative, Maxie Ruth Whatley and her husband Lloyd, niece, Patti Ann Ellender, and nephew Ray Ellender.
Pallbearers honored to serve are Alan "Bud" Campbell, Robert "Rob" Fogleman, Michael Bruchhaus, Donald R. "Donnie" Bruchhaus, Jr., John T. Doucet and James R. Doucet.
Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until departure for services at 11:00 a.m. in Oakdale First Baptist Church.
