Marion Laborde Hebert

Memorial service for Marion Laborde Hebert, 83 of Sam Rayburn, will be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday March 27, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marksville. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery #1 in Marksville. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville

Mrs. Hebert, a Native of Marksville, Louisiana passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014 at Lufkin Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Emeric and Minnie Laborde, and was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Hebert, her daughter Suzy, and her brother, Dr. N. Francis Laborde. Upon finishing her degree in Home Economics from Southwestern Louisiana Institute (U.L.L.), she hosted a cooking TV show in Lake Charles. Many of the recipes came from her mother, Minnie. Mrs. Hebert and her husband moved frequently through the years, living in Sulphur and Lake Charles, Lawrenceville, New Jersey, and finally retiring to Sam Rayburn, Texas where they enjoyed fishing, camping, sailing, and golf. Mrs. Hebert was very active in her small mission church, St. Raymond's Catholic Church.

"Dutch", as she was affectionately called by her beloved grandsons and friends, lived life to the fullest. She especially loved the time she spent with her three grandsons. She was an avid bridge player and belonged to a weekly sewing group that met to crochet and sew. She will be greatly missed by a host of friends, nephews and nieces.

She leaves behind her son, Richard, wife Brigitte, and grandsons Etienne, Hugh and Bennett, of New Orleans and two brothers, Dr. Elmo J. Laborde of Lafayette, and Raymond Laborde of Marksville.
