Mary Sasser Campbell, age 90 of Pineville, passed away on March 25,2014, in her home.
Graveside services will be held under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home at Greenwood Memorial Park on Saturday, March 29,2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Ricky Willis officiating.
After graduating from Bolton HS, Mary earned her degree from NSU. She dedicated 33 years teaching in Louisiana public schools in Rapides and Calcasieu parishes. She lived in Sulphur for 50+ years before moving to Pineville in 2002.
She was a former member of the 50/50 Sunday School Class at the FUMC in Alexandria. Latten member of FUMC in Pineville.
Former Vo-Cal volunteer at Calcasieu-Cameron Hospital in Sulphur; "Pink Lady" at Rapides General; Retired member of Delta Kappa Gamma sorority; Lifetime member of Louisiana Retired Teachers Association; Caladium Garden Club; DAR, including Regent of Loyalty Chapter.
Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Clea T "Pappy" Campbell, II; parents, Joseph and Tenie Deville Sasser; sisters, Hazel O'Neal, Irble Landrum Lippe, and Joda Bennett.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, C. T. "Speedy" Campbell and wife Nancy Campbell and Joe Sasser Campbell and wife Carmen Campbell; grandsons Douglas Campbell and David Campbell; and a host of other family members and friends.
