Funeral services for Lou Ella Fontenot will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2014, in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with Father Richard Dale Broussard officiating. Committal service will follow in the Hampton Hill Cemetery of Elizabeth under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Lou Ella, 83, of Elizabeth, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in Christus St. Patrick Hospital of Lake Charles. She was born on October 8, 1930 in Mamou to the union of Johnny Fontenot and Iza Veillon Fontenot. Before retiring she worked as a cook for the Evangeline Parish School. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and four brothers.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving family, her husband, Wilfred Fontenot, Sr. of Elizabeth; one son, Wilfred Fontenot, Jr., wife Patricia of Lafayette; two daughters, Verona Droddy, husband Roger of Pitkin and Anita LaFauci Hudson, husband Steve of Moss Bluff; four sisters, Velma Johnson of Mamou, Juanita Ardoin of Eunice, Mary Guillory of Mamou, and Willie Seal of Ville Platte; one brother, Fred Fontenot of Saint Amant; nine grandchildren; twenty-four, great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will begin Friday, March 28, 2014, from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m., then Saturday, March 29, 2014, from 9 a.m. until service time in the church at 11 a.m.
