Thomas Leonard McCarty, Sr.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Thomas Leonard McCarty, Sr. will be held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, with Brother Allen Dick officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pollock.

The family asks that visitation be observed, Friday, April 11, 2014, at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will continue on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the service.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Kemp Nelson, Peyton Nelson, Mike Bladel, Tim Bladel, Cody McDonald and Billy Slayter. Honorary pallbearers are Chad Gaspard and Cody Walker.

Mr. McCarty, 76, of Montgomery, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at his residence.

Thomas worked for Louisiana Industries as a Dredge Operator for many years and was a member of Victory Church and loved his church family, his pastor and his pastor's wife. Tommy was an avid outdoorsman that loved to fish and hunt. His greatest love of all was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle that will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milo and Fannie Adams McCarty; brother, Jimmy McCarty and sister, Dorothy Vidrine.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jeanette Wheeler McCarty; sons, Thomas L. McCarty, Jr. and wife, Melissa, James Ricky McCarty and wife, Melissa; daughter, Cynthia Lynn Omstead and husband, Dennis; grandchildren, Chad Gaspard and wife, Whitney, Cody Walker and wife, Amy, Lisa McDonald and husband, Kody, Tyler McCarty, Courtney McCarty, Dennis Omstead and Michael Fugler; great grandchildren, Gage and Kane McDonald, Cade and Keaton Gaspard and Hunter Omstead; niece, Debbie Maxwell and nephew, Michael McCarty.
