Funeral services for Dwight Elmer "Chief" Belgard will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Holloway Baptist Church with Dr. Jack West officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Holloway under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.
The family requests that visitation be observed at the Church Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Dwight Elmer "Chief" Belgard, 89, entered eternal rest on April 27, 2014 at his residence in Deville.
Mr. Belgard was retired from Esler Regional Airport and was a well-respected appliance repairman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He served as a deacon of Holloway Baptist Church for many years and was loved by his church family. He was a loving husband, loving daddy, and loving pawpaw. His family eagerly anticipates their reunion. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints". Ps 116:15
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmers and Florence Wiley Belgard and a son, Jimmie D. Belgard.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 70 years, Jeanette Paulk Belgard; sons, Dewain Belgard and Edward Belgard (Sharon McCann); daughter, June Jones (Walter Jones); daughter-in-law, Trudy Tyler Belgard; seven grandchildren and their spouses, twelve great-grandchildren, one great, great-grandchild; five brothers, Winston, Glen, Winfred, Kolin and Alton; three sisters, Oneida, Nell and Joyce and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Glenn E. Belgard, Jimmie W. Belgard, Joshua Wise, Samuel Wise, Dennis Stewart and Chad Futch.
Honorary pallbearer will be Chris Guillot.
