Memorial services for Mrs. Margaret Helen Chambley will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014 in St. John's Episcopal Church, Oakdale, La with Father Joe Bordelon officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven, cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Mrs. Chambley, 89, formerly of Oakdale, La. entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 5, 2014 in VITAS Innovative Hospice Care, San Antonio, Tx.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Harry H. Chambley; parents, George and Ida Stapleton; two sons, William Porter Fuller II and Patrick Dixon Fuller; one grandson, Max Parrish Martin and a favorite first cousin, George Dixon.

Survivors include her daughter Ann Parrish Fuller Martin and her husband, Max Martin of Boerne, Tx.; one grandson William Porter Fuller III and his wife, Dana, of Portland, Oregon; one granddaughter Laurel Ann Griffin and her husband Kevin, of Franklin, Tn.; two step-sons, Ted Chambley and his wife, Judy of Vernal, Utah and Bob Chambley and his wife, Debbie of Moss Bluff, La; three step-daughters, Karan Chaffin and her husband, Larry of Sulphur, La, Debbie O'Quinn and her husband, Tim of Pineville, La and Pam Pender and her husband, Mark of Oakdale, La; one brother Sam Stapleton and his wife, Ruth, of Melbourne, Fl; three great grandsons and nine step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren.

Mrs. Chambley was a long time resident of Oakdale.

Not only a wonderful cook, Mrs. Chambley loved to knit, read, and was an avid bird watcher, and loved her dog, Buddy.

Margaret graduated from LSU, Baton Rouge; was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She retired from the La. Dept. of Welfare in Protective Services.

Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home Oakdale from 2 pm- 6 pm on Sunday, may 4th, 2014 and at St. John's Episcopal church on May 5th, Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m.
