Funeral services for Mrs. Lola Marie Melder will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2014 in the Beaver Creek Baptist Church. Reverend Alton Hodnett will be officiating. Interment will follow at Beaver Creek Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Mrs. Melder, 83, of the Beaver Creek Community, entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at her residence in Beaver Creek.

Lola was a lifetime member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church; a loving Christian wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mrs. Melder was preceded in death by, her parents, Grover and Blanche O'Banion; four sisters, Ruby Fontenot, Lillian Hutchinson, Elaine Creel, Shirley Diefenbach; three brothers, William O'Banion, Kirby O'Banion, Joe O'Banion.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her loving husband of 66 years Landus "Tinker" Melder of Beaver Creek; one son, Michael Melder and his wife Dana of Elizabeth; seven daughters, Dianne Willis and her husband Donnie of West Monroe, Donna Chapman and her husband David of Beaver Creek, Sandra Sanderson and her husband Bruce of Oakdale, Lana Willis and her husband Ervin of Oakdale, Dana Stockman and her husband Coley of Oakdale, Gayla Causey of Beaver Creek, Melissa Strother and her husband Warren of Dutchtown; two brothers, Clark O'Banion of Glenmora, Robert "BeBe" O'Banion and his wife Debbye of Pineville; three sisters, Verda Hughes and her husband Ray of North Carolina, Sue O'Banion of Starks; twenty-seven grandchildren, sixty great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grand children; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home Oakdale on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. Sunday, May 10, 2014 at the Beaver Creek Baptist Church.
