Robert Burns "r.b." Carpenter Obituary
Robert Burns "R.B." Carpenter

Going Home services for Robert Burns "R.B." Carpenter, Sr. will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2014, at the Pentecostals of Alexandria Auditorium with Reverends Terry Shock, Jeff Cooley and Edgar Farris officiating. Committal service will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery of Pineville under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Alexandria.

R.B., 73, of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on April 20, 1941 in Turkey Creek to the union of Clarence and Alma Elliott Carpenter. He graduated with the Class of 1959 from Oakdale High School. As a devoted husband, loving father, extra devoted loving grandfather, and great grandfather, he loved large family vacations. R.B. was a retail store manager for many years and a very accomplished sign painter. He had a secret family his wife approved of at the Alexandria Sam's Club. He would always greet everyone and ask "Do you have your Sam's card?" His smiling face and funny jokes will be sadly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph Carpenter; and sister, Clara "Bo" Campbell.

He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 51 years 51 days, Darlene Jeanette LaFleur Carpenter of Pineville; two sons, Robert Carpenter of Sulphur and Jeff Carpenter of Pineville; daughter, Susan Carpenter, brother, Rayburn Carpenter, and sister, Jewel McGraw all of Oakdale; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one on the way; and along with a host family and friends.

Pallbearers to serve will be Robert Carpenter, Jeff Carpenter, Jason Carpenter, Chris Doran, Reverend Jeff Cooley, and Earl Lisby.

Visitation will begin Friday, May 23, 2014 from 10 a.m. until service time in the church.
