Mrs. Myers was born June 2, 1931, in Birmingham, Alabama to Ledger Simpson and Lorraine Wilkinson. In recent years she became acquainted with her extended family in Alabama, an event that brought her great pleasure. After the sudden death of her father when she was 3 years old, she and her mother moved to Houston, where she completed high school at Reagan High School in 1950. While in high school she became acquainted with the Myers brothers. She had her heart stolen by the youngest, Charles Robert (Bob) Myers, whom she married October 2, 1952. She had three sons and excelled at motherhood, always having her sons' best interest at heart. After her youngest began school, she started a career as an office manager, bookkeeper, realtor and secretary at various businesses in Alexandria. Her family was her primary interest and greatest joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles Robert (Bob) Myers; her mother, Lorraine Wilkinson Taylor; her father, Ledger Simpson; and several half-brothers and sisters.
She is survived by sons, Dr. Charles (Larry) Myers and his wife, Dr. Deborah Myers; Robert Paul Myers and his wife Patricia; and David Edward Myers and his wife, Lisa.
