Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Ted Fontenot will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 in St. Peters Catholic Church Pine Prairie. Father Richard Broussard will be officiating. Interment will follow in Delafosse Cemetery Beaver Creek under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mr. Fontenot, 68, of the Beaver Creek Community entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 1, 2014 in his residence in Oakdale.
Joseph was preceded in death by his grandparents, Deo and Aniece Gradney and his parents, Edmond and Gladys Fontenot.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his two sons, Gary Fontenot of Oakdale, La, and Stacey Fontenot & his wife Cassandra of Carencro, La; one daughter, Tessa Fontenot Coleman of Ville Platte, La; three brothers, D.L. Fontenot & his wife Dorothy of Oakdale, La, August Randall Fontenot & his wife Dorothea of Beaver Creek, Alfred James Fontenot & his wife Rena Mae of Oakdale, La, two sisters, Thelma Martin & her husband Otis of Columbus, S.C., Theresa Fontenot of Silver City, N.C., four grandchildren, Taylar Deville, Casey Lane Fontenot, Tayton Coleman; the mother of his children and best friend, Mary Lou Fontenot; Great Auntie, Hazel Gradney Chretien; and a special nephew, Jeremy Mithcell
Mr. Joseph was a carpenter, cattleman, horseman, commissioned deputy with Evangeline Parish Sheriff Dept, and member of the Beaver Creek Fire Dept, member of the Rainbow trail ride association, and a retired school bus driver, and a kidney donor to his son Stacey Fontenot.
Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home Oakdale, Friday, June 6, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
