Edwin Albert

Guillotte, Jr.

Edwin Albert Guillotte, Jr., "Papa" to his beloved family, 75, departed this world for heaven on July 9, 2014 in Dallas.

Eddie, the name he went by all his life, was born on May 10, 1939, in Bunkie, Louisiana. He was the son of Edwin and Ida Louise Guillotte. He graduated from Pineville High School in 1957. He first served in the Naval Reserve and went on to join the United States Marine Corps. While stationed in Oahu, Hawaii he was promoted to the rank of Corporal. After serving, he attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. He then began a lifelong career on the Union Pacific Railroad. He retired as an engineer in 2002.

After retiring, he was able to enjoy the two things he loved most in life, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, all of whom he taught to target shoot as he did so well, on his ranch in the Brazos Valley of Texas. He was an avid fan of LSU football and rarely missed watching a game. He was also a car aficionado; there were few car lots that escaped his admiration.

He passed surrounded by his family including Carolyn, his wife of 22 years, and his brother Michael. He is survived by his children Stephen Guillotte of Corpus Christi, Texas, Kim Guillotte Sparks of Houston, Texas and Jason Guillotte of Salem, Oregon. He is also survived by his two stepdaughters, Lisa Longoria of Austin, Texas, and Danielle Booth and her husband John of Dallas, Texas. He was the adored grandfather to Matthew and Natalie, of Houston, Texas; George, Carolina and Carlos of Austin, Texas; Desmond of Eagle Pass, Texas and William, Henry, Carolyn and John, Jr. of Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Edwin Albert Guillotte, III.

He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
