Funeral services for Rev. Albert Wayne Vanderford Sr., will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July, 18, 2014 at the Camp Eight United Pentecostal Church, Otis, La. with Reverends Sam Russell and Danny Sharp officiating. Interment will follow in Camp Eight United Pentecostal Church Cemetery, in Otis under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Rev. Albert Wayne Vanderford, Sr., of Alexandria entered eternal rest on Monday, July 14, 2014 at his residence in Alexandria, Louisiana.
He was a native of Corinth, Mississippi and spent forty years in the Rocky Mountains. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church International and locally, Camp Eight United Pentecostal Church, and was also a licensed ordained pastor in the Rocky Mountain District for over thirty five years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was also a retired millwright, which he was employed for over 30 years. He loved elk hunting, fishing and the serenity of the mountains.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bonnie Vanderford, his son, Anthony Vanderford; his brother, Roger Vanderford; his sister, Mary Nell Jones; two nieces, Rhonda Fowinkle amd Tina Vanderford; one nephew, Randy Jones.
Also preceded by one grandchild.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of 50 years, Charlotte Mullins Vanderford of Alexandria, La.; his son, Bert Verderford of Rawlins, Wyoming; his daughters, Tracy Mitchell (Chad) of Alexandria, Tamiko Pederson (Lance) of Hardin, Montana; his brothers, John Douglas Vanderford (Linda) of Oxford, MS, Billy Vanderford (Carolyn) of Corinth, MS.
Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Camp Eight United Pentecostal Church, Otis, La. on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m.
