Barbara E. Coco

A Mass of Christian burial for Barbara E. Coco will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Catholic Church with Rev. James Ferguson officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5 , 2014 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son and again from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the funeral home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the funeral home.

Barbara E. Coco, 78, of Alexandria passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Grace Home Alexandria.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred J. "Buddy" Coco; daughter, Anne Elizabeth Coco; parents, G.L. and Martha L. Jeansonne; sister, Dorothy Gremillion.

Barbara was a devoted wife and loving mother to her 3 children. She was active in her church, served as a parish council member at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, sang in the choir, and served on alter society. She showed great devotion to the Virgin Mother and taught CCD for several years at the Cathedral.

Those left to cherish Barbara's memory include 2 sons, Paul David Coco (Terri), Charles Edward Coco; 2 grandchildren, Jeremy Paul Coco (Kristal) and Justin L. O'Neill; 1 great-grandson, Henry James Coco. She also leaves behind numerous family and friends.

A special thanks to devoted nieces who visited and assisted with her care during this short illness.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be: Steve Cook, John Voltz, Keith LaBauve, Guy Jeansonne, Harold Jeansonne and Tommy Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Douglas De Priest, Sherman Cook and Harold "Hap" Jeansonne.

In lieu of flowers, the Coco family requests donations sent to the St. Francis Xavier Restoration Fund, 626 Fourth Street, Alexandria, LA 71301.
