A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Hallette Harlan Marchand will be held at St. Rita's Catholic Church, Alexandria, Louisiana at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014, with Reverend Taylor Reynolds officiating. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Pineville, Louisiana.
The family invites friends to a reception at St. Rita's Parish Hall honoring Hallette following the interment.
Hallette was born November 7, 1919 in Castor, Louisiana and spent most of her adult life in Alexandria caring for her husband and children. She passed from this life at the age of 94 in Bossier City, on Wednesday, August 6, 2014.
Hallette was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Joseph Marchand, Jr. and a grandson, Daniel Joseph Marchand.
She is survived by her children, Alexander Joseph Marchand II (Ruth), Gay Lynn Jones (Don), Nancy Benjamin; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and a brother, Jack T. Harlan (Mary Lou).
Honoring Hallette as pallbearers will be Thomas Jones, Michael Marchand, Jacob Jones, John Paul Harlan, Cameron Jones, Gardner Jones, Tyler Jones, Chad Carroll, Teal Carpenter, Mark Harlan, Jason Baker, and Chris Morris.
In lieu of flowers, the family has designated
, PO Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN, 38148-0142, for memorial contributions.
The family would like to send a special heartfelt thank you to St. Joseph Hospice and the physicians and staff of Garden Park Nursing Home for their loving care and compassion for Hallette.
