James E. Farmer

Services for James E. Farmer will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2014 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with Rev. Hardy Estes officiating. Interment will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until time of service on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at John Kramer & Son Funeral Home.

James (Mr. Jim) E. Farmer, 79, of Pitkin passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport.

Mr. Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Farmer.

Mr. Jim was a resident of the Northwest La War Veterans Home in Bossier City, La. Mr. Jim was retired from the United States Marine Corps in which he served over 20 years. He was also an OTR Truck Driver. He was a member of the Marine Corps League Southtown Detachment in East Aurora, NY. Mr. Jim received the La Veterans Medal of Honor for his military service.

Mr. Jim is survived by 2 daughters, Noreen Klose and husband, Steve, of Lansdale, PA., Claire Farmer of Tumwater, WA.; 1 son, Walter Farmer and wife, Karen, of Anchorage, AK.; 2 siblings, Kathy Farmer of Buffalo, NY, Jack Farmer and wife, Judy, of East Aurora, NY.; 5 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and 1 special friend, Jolene Rasberry of Pitkin.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be the Patriot Guard Riders.
