Funeral services for Marcie Lavera Pickering will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Beechwood United Pentecostal Church with Reverend Tom Murphy, Reverend Webb Robinson, Reverend James Golemon, Reverend Joel McMickin, and Reverend Calvin Robinson officiating. Committal service will follow in the Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Marcie, 86, of Hineston, entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 24, 2016 in Alexandria with her loving family by her side. She was born February 28, 1930 in Hineston to the union of John Robinson and Maggie Warren Robinson. She was a member of Beechwood United Pentecostal Church, homemaker, and cook at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home. Marcie was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 25 years, John R. Pickering; two sons, Jimmie and Bobby Pickering; stepson, John Shelby Pickering; three brothers; two sisters; two grandsons, Robbin Thompson and John Raymond Pickering; one granddaughter, Kim Winegeart; two great grandchildren, Casey Dousay and Abby Winegeart.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are: two sons, Wayne Pickering of Hineston and Ronnie (Tracy) Pickering of Ball; two daughters, Joy (Donald) Walker and Sally (Joel) McMickin all of Hineston; stepson, Glenn Pickering of Tyler, Texas; one brother, Sambo Robinson of Leander; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers to serve will be Johnathan "Toot" Pickering, Jamie Thompson, Jason McMickin, Joey McMickin, Glenn Ray Pickering, and Rickey Pelt.

Visitation will be held at Beechwood United Pentecostal Church, Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m., then on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 8 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. in the church.
