Clyde Powell Obituary
Funeral services for Clyde Michael Powell will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Camp 8 Pentecostal Church with Reverend Anthony Mangun and Reverend Douglas Freeman officiating. Committal service will follow in the Hemphill Star Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Clyde, 64, of Otis, entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. He was born December 13, 1951 to Milton Powell and Susie Bennett Powell. Clyde enjoyed spending time with all the family, loved his music and fishing. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Powell; one brother, Jimmy Powell; three sisters, Betty Sue Savant, Judy Blanchard, and Darlene Hines; three sons, David Ivy, Jeffrey Wayne Ivy, and Daniel Powell.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: four sons, Michael Henry of Bryan, Texas, Alvin Dale Powell and his wife, Linda of Otis, Sam Powell and his wife, Amber of Houston, Texas, and Jeffery Lyn Powell and his wife, Bridget of Tioga; fourteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be J.W. Harris, Tommy Savant, Donald Powell, Timmy Savant, Mark Powell, and Jeffery Ivy. Honorary pallbearer to serve will be Glen Whiddon.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Camp 8 Pentecostal Church from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., then on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the church.
